Syndrela and Sutirtha advance to women's doubles final at WTT Contender Almaty

Indian pair Syndrela Das and Sutirtha Mukherjee advanced to the women's doubles final at the WTT Contender Almaty after defeating their fellow countrywomen Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade in the semifinals on Saturday. With a 3-1 score (11-6, 12-10, 8-11, 11-6), the West Bengal third-seeded duo secured victory in just 33 minutes. In the upcoming final, they will face the Japanese pair Miu Hirano and Miyuu Kihara. The two pairs have previously met once before at the start of the year in the qualifiers of the WTT Contender Zagreb, where the Japanese pair won 3-0. In the quarterfinals, Syndrela and Sutirtha defeated local wildcards Darya Fu and Mariya Lukyanova with a 3-1 score (11-5, 11-3, 10-12, 11-7) in 24 minutes.
